Why Muppleberry Farm?
We started Muppleberry Farm with a single idea:
What if owners could talk to each other?
The focus of Muppleberry Farm is the perfect pet Standard Schnauzer, and of an online community of owners.
All of our owners are invited to join our private Facebook group to interact and share not only with us, but with the other owners.
Since all of our pups are intended to be family pets, we have a simple criteria for our dogs. To us, a perfect puppy is one who represents the physical traits of the breed, while also being healthy, loving, playful, and trainable. Our breeding priority is personality, pets should be affectionate and engaging.
It's important to us that you know that the sire and dam are beloved members of our family. We only have one breeding pair at a time, and our ladies retire after 3 litters. Unlike some show breeders, we would never sell or re-home them.
Our current pair come from prestigious lines, and are fully pedigreed (available upon request) and registered with the AKC. Our current dam "Asta", is American-bred. Our sire "Miro", is from the Czech Republic in Europe. We chose carefully to insure a robust genetic variation, with no common relative in at least 5 generations. Both have been tested to insure they are negative for the DCM gene, and both have been DNA cataloged at the University of Missouri (full health certification available upon request). We keep one puppy per breeding pair ourselves, so we're as invested in each line as much as our owners.
About our Standard Schnauzers:
Our Standards are very athletic. One of our pups has been clocked at 18 MPH, going uphill. They also love water, here at the farm we have a small pond, and in the summer they will stay out for hours at a time, chasing each other, playing, and then crashing full speed into the water. Our dam also loves to retrieve floating toys.
One of our pups lives in Florida, where his owner keeps a small kiddie pool in the yard for splashing and keeping cool. Standards have a lot of energy, and need strenuous exercise. We would recommend a fenced yard with plenty of room to run.
Many of our pups have achieved Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification, and we're very proud that one of our litter E pups was the first Standard Schnauzer to receive the Advanced Trick Dog (TKA) title. Our current litter (F) will be the last with this breeding pair.
The current Muppleberry Farm breeding pair (Litters D, E, & F):
Fiercely loyal, extremely smart, and a great protector. She loves to swim, and her favorite game is to retrieve floating toys thrown into a pond or a pool.
A snuggle monster, he demands hugs and loves having his tail scratched. He is very territorial and makes sure that none of the woodland creatures come into the yard.
